Sky news update: Another themed
channel is added to Sky’s repertoire of channels that offer a particular genre
of television programme for dedicated viewing.
Sky have, over the past year or
so, developed their television channels to offer endless coverage of a
particular genre of film or television programme or even sports event. These
have covered, a Disney movies channel, a James Bond movies channel and a
channel showing every moment of the 2013 Ashes series as well as county cricket
and previous series between the two cricketing giants. Now another type of
movie has its own dedicated channel – superheroes.
Marvel and their movie partners
have become enormously popular over the past decade, growing from an already
incredibly popular level. The number of remakes that are released every year
borders on the tiresome for those who want to go to the cinema to see something
else but now Sky are offering the chance to watch these movies from the comfort
of your own home.
Much like the Sky Sports Ashes
channel, Sky Movies Superheroes, is only available for a limited period of time
but will be offering the biggest and best superhero movies. From 17th
August (Satuday) to 1st September (Sunday) Sky Movies Greats HD will
be transformed to Sky Movies Superheroes.
Regular Sky Updates
The channel will offer all
formats of programmes pertaining to superheroes, from animated movies to
documentaries and as if that wasn’t enough the programmes will be available on
the channel – 304 – on SkyGo and SkyGo Extra and On Demand so viewers are not
short of opportunities to get their fill of superhero programmes.
The current schedule includes
days that are dedicated to specific niches within the genre and this includes:
18th August: “Super Teams” –
X-men: First Class, Marvel's Avengers Assemble, The Incredibles and Fantastic
Four
Monday 19th August: Dynamic Duos
– The Men In Black trilogy, Batman, Batman Forever, Batman & Robin and
